Welcome to the webpage of the East Tilbury Scout troop, we hold our meetings on a Thursday night between the hours of 19:30 and 21:00 unless otherwise stated. During the meetings the scouts get to do many different types of activities all of which contribute to their education and improving their skills.The meetings generally involve a game of some description whether it be a mind game or a sporting game, this is done to try and help them become good team players and improve social skills, then they are set tasks such as first aid or tying knots, this is done so that they can receive the relevant badges.The Scouts also have an input into how some of the meetings are run, by letting the leaders know which sort of activities they would like to do, or which badges they would like to receive, These can include outdoor pursuits such as hiking, rock climbing, abseiling or map reading.There is also a certain amount of discipline involved during the opening and closing ceremonies during which one of the Scouts (known as the patrol leader) will raise or lower the Flag inside the hall.
